Aston Martin DBR1 (1959 Le Mans Winner) - 1:43 Scale Model Car

$ 75.00

Though Aston Martin has spent the last 70 years building some of the world's finest GT cars, including those favored by fictional British spies, there is one Aston that can lay claim to being the most important to the continuing success of the marque: the DBR1, the culmination of David Brown's quest to dominate sports car racing in the 1950s. Unlike previous road car-based contenders, the DBR1 was a pure racing machine, with a magnesium-alloy body stretched over a lightweight space frame, and a lusty 3-liter straight six feeding 220 horsepower to the rear wheels through a five-speed transaxle. After three years of steady development, Le Mans fell at last to the DBR1 in the hands of Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby in 1959, with the pair leading a 1-2 Aston Martin finish that saw the favored Ferraris succumb to mechanical failures and the Aston's blistering pace. The Le Mans-winning Aston Martin DBR1 (chassis DBR1/2) is now available in a magnificent 1:18-scale resin replica by Spark, which features unsurpassed interior and fine trim detail. Serious Aston Martin enthusiasts should not hesitate to add this hugely significant car to their model collections.

SPECIFICATIONS: 1:43 scale (approximately four inches in length). Resin body, no opening parts. Fixed-position steering. Comes with acrylic dust cover and display base.

PERFECT FOR: Racing history buffs. British car devotees. Knowledgeable enthusiasts who know that 007 didn't invent the Aston Martin nameplate.
