Cunningham C4R (1953 12 Hours of Sebring Winner) - 1:43 Scale Model Car

$ 75.00

In only its second year of existence, the 1953 12 Hours of Sebring endurance race in Florida was counted as a points-paying round of the World Sportscar Championship. Unsurprisingly, this status upgrade attracted the attention of Europe's racing industry, with Aston Martin and Bonnet sending factory teams to tangle with the mainly American field of semi-pro and amateur teams. After twelve grueling hours on the rough Florida pavement, however, it was the Chrysler-powered Cunningham C4R driven by Phil Walters and John Fitch that emerged victorious, scoring a win that would prove to be an important step on Cunningham's road to strong showings at Le Mans later in the decade. The historically significant C4R Sebring-winner is now available in a 1:43-scale resin replica by Spark Models. Even by Spark's customarily high standards, the C4R is a true work of art. Every detail has been carefully considered, from its tiny "Cunningham" badge, egg-crate grille and taped-over lights, to its faithfully executed cockpit, to its accurate Florida license plate (exactly as it appeared at Sebring in 1953).

SPECIFICATIONS: 1:43 scale (approximately four inches in length). Resin body, features no opening parts. Fixed-position steering. Comes with acrylic dust cover and display base.

PERFECT FOR: Endurance racing historians. Mopar lovers with wide-ranging tastes. Those who know that there's more to American sports car racing than just Cobras and Corvettes.
