For its second season, the invitational International Race of Champions switched from Porsche Carrera RSRs to identically prepared Chevrolet Camaros as a showcase for the world's top drivers to compete on an even playing field in a four race series. In the first race of IROC II, open-wheel ace Bobby Unser emerged victorious over a field stacked with NASCAR oval-track stalwarts and Formula One champions at Michigan International Speedway, on his way to the 1974-75 season championship. Unser's winning black #7 Camaro is now the subject of a highly detailed, limited-edition 1:43-scale resin replica by Spark Models. As menacing as the real thing, its wide-flared body and spartan race cockpit are captured with amazing accuracy, as are the gargantuan Goodyear slicks and charming, period-evocative "Camaro" graphics.
