You have to admire the audacity of Dauer Racing, who in 1993 took thirteen unused Porsche 962 Group C chassis, bolted in an unrestricted version of the 962's twin-turbocharged Type 935 engine good for 720 horsepower, and added a passenger seat, small luggage compartment and hydraulic suspension to create the Dauer 962 Le Mans, a barely street-legal supercar that at one point laid claim to the title of "world's fastest." In an ironic twist, a slightly detuned Dauer would exploit a rules loophole to enter a 962 as a production-based GT car in the 1994 24 Hours of Le Mans...and would win the whole thing.
Model Citizen Diecast is proud to present the wild Dauer 962 Le Mans road car as a 1:43-scale diecast replica by Maxichamps. Its diecast metal body is a faithful recreation of the real thing, with a substantial hand feel that will satisfy fans of old-school model car craftsmanship. Underneath, BBS race wheels are shod with real rubber tires, while German road registration plates complete the realistic effect.
