Lamborghini 350GT (1964) - 1:43 Scale Diecast Model Car
The story of the founding of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. is the stuff of legend. When wealthy industrialist and all-around car guy Ferruccio Lamborghini grew tired of the unreliability of his Ferrari (and of the service he received from the factory) he went straight to Maranello to complain to the boss himself, Enzo Ferrari...and Ferrari quite crudely gave him the boot. Lamborghini's response? He started his own company, to build the sort of high-speed luxury GT that Ferrari failed to deliver. Assembling a dream team of some of Italy's brightest automotive minds, including engine builder Giotto Bizzarrini and chassis designer Gian Paolo Dallara, among others, Lamborghini's first production car rolled off the assembly line in 1964: the lovely 350GT. Powered by a dry-sump, 3.5-liter V12 that would go on to power Lamborghinis for five decades, the 350GT was a compelling opening salvo in the Ferrari-Lamborghini supercar wars.
Offered as part of their commemorative Museo Lamborghini: La Collezione di Sant'Agata line, Minichamps' stunning 1:43-scale diecast replica of the 350GT is a critical component of the scale model Lamborghini landscape. It's a faithful recreation of the very example that resides in Lamborghini's factory museum, resplendent in red and featuring an incredibly detailed interior and laser-cut wire wheels.
SPECIFICATIONS: 1:43 scale (approximately four inches in length). Diecast metal body, no opening parts. Comes with acrylic dust cover, display base, and commemorative Museo Lamborghini outer box.
PERFECT FOR: Lamborghini fans who know that the marque's history didn't begin with the Miura and Countach. Minichamps collectors who want something a little less...German. Entrepreneurial rebels.
