Lamborghini Jarama - 1:43 Scale Diecast Model Car
Ferruccio Lamborghini founded his namesake car company to produce refined grand touring cars as an alternative to temperamental racing-derived machinery from Ferrari. Though the mid-engined Miura supercar was a dramatic shift away from this philosophy, luxurious GTs remained a prime focus for Lamborghini as the company entered the 1970s. One of the finest examples was the Jarama, introduced in 1970. Based on a shortened Espada chassis, the Jarama was powered by a 4-liter V12 good for 350 horsepower...more than the measure of Ferrari's competing 2+2, the 365GTC/4. Only 328 Jaramas were completed over a six-year production run, as Lamborghini fought for economic survival throughout the Seventies, making the Jarama a rare and intriguing piece of exotic car history.
Minichamps' 1:43-scale diecast replica of the Lamborghini Jarama is a magnificent tribute to the striking Gandini-designed original. Among its many faithful details are perfectly rendered Campagnolo rims and a realistic interior. For Lamborghini enthusiasts, the Jarama will make a strong counterpoint to a display case full of Miuras, Countaches and Aventadors.
