THE CAR: No serious discussion of which Formula One driver ranks as the greatest of all time is complete without the mention of Jim Clark. Clark's brilliance behind the wheel made him the standout talent of his era...an era which saw him do battle with legends such as Graham Hill, Dan Gurney, John Surtees, and an ascendant Jackie Stewart. However, Clark's abilities were allowed to reach their maximum potential thanks to his partnership with Colin Chapman and Lotus Cars, an outfit that was at the cutting edge of race car technology for decades. The Clark/Lotus partnership reached perhaps its peak with the Lotus 33, a 1.5-liter Formula One racer that was as fast as it was beautiful. With Clark at the wheel, the 33 notched five victories in the 1965 season and delivered Clark's second World Driver's Championship.
THE MODEL: Spark's gorgeous 1:43-scale resin replica of the Lotus 33 depicts the car in its 1965 British Grand Prix-winning configuration. On display are the car's beautifully detailed suspension, throttle bodies and gearbox, as well as a lilliputian instrument cluster ahead of the driver figure. Finished in Lotus's iconic green-and-yellow livery, the Spark 33 is certain to delight fans of historic Formula One racing.
