Porsche 718 RSK (1959 U.S. Grand Prix) - 1:43 Scale Model Car

$ 72.00

The first-ever United States Grand Prix, held at Sebring in 1959, saw the appearance of F1 title contenders Brabham, Ferrari and Cooper...and somewhat incongrously, a full-fendered Porsche 718 RSK sports car. Privately entered and driven by Connecticut Porsche dealer Harry Blanchard, the RSK had been converted to single-seat configuration, making it eligible for Grand Prix competition as a Formula 2-spec racer. Though overmatched by the lithe Coopers and powerful Ferraris, the RSK's reliability and Blanchard's skill yielded a 7th-place finish for Porsche, an interesting footnote in the German carmaker's fabled history. In line with their penchant for releasing offbeat subjects, Spark have replicated the Harry Blanchard USGP Porsche RSK in 1:43-scale resin. The RSK's clean lines are accented by Spark's customarily excellent chrome trim pieces and photoetched wheels.

SPECIFICATIONS: 1:43 scale (approximately four inches in length). Resin body, no opening parts. Fixed-position steering. Comes with acrylic dust cover and display base.

PERFECT FOR: Porsche fans who are looking for something different. Formula 1 history buffs. Those whose creed is "run what you brung."
