The 1967 Targa Florio saw Ferrari's mighty 330P4 go toe-to-toe with the exotic Chaparral 2D, a battery of Ford GT40s and Lola T70s, and the new Alfa Romeo Tipo 33, but at the end of the torturous Sicilian road race, the factory Porsche team had made it clear that their era of dominance was about to begin. Porsche swept the top three podium places with their 910 prototype that year, with an 8-cylinder variant taking overall victory and 6-cylinder versions coming second and third.

The second-place, flat-six 910 (number 174, driven by Leo Cella and Giampiero Biscaldi) is the subject of a beautiful new 1:43-scale resin replica by Spark. Lustrous in its clean white finish, this model appears ready to charge onto the twisting roads of the Sicilian countryside, with accurately rendered race wheels and tires, a highly detailed cockpit, and a charmingly executed German number plate completing the effect.
