Porsche 911 Carrera 2.8 IROC RSR - 1:43 Scale Diecast Model Car
When Roger Penske needed a fleet of identically prepared cars for his newly formed International Race of Champions series in 1973, he sought advice from his star driver and set-up savant, Mark Donohue. The answer was immediate and obvious: Porsche. Penske ordered fifteen 911 Carrera RSRs, built to perfectly matched specification, to be raced by a cadre of the world's greatest drivers. Among them was Peter Revson, the American ace with a Can Am championship and a growing F1 and Indy resume. Revson's consistently strong performances yielded a second-place finish in the inaugural IROC championship. Revson's achievement, and the earliest days of the International Race of Champions, are honored by this 1:43-scale diecast replica of the 911 Carrera 2.8 RSR IROC by Minichamps. Accurate to the smallest detail, the Minichamps RSR IROC features crisply rendered sponsor decals, staggered Fuchs alloys, and "whale-tail" spoiler that evokes Porsche's ascent to dominance of production-based racing in the 1970s.
