At its inception, the Porsche 911 was not intended to be a race car, but that did not stop privateers from entering the potent sports car in the world's premiere endurance events almost immediately following the model's release. One such person was Frenchman Jacques Dewes, who (under the pseudonym "Franc") entered a new 911S 2-liter in the 1966 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. On this, its maiden appearance at Le Sarthe, the 911 would claim victory in the 2-liter GT category, finishing 14th outstanding result that would no doubt motivate scores of future entrants to choose the 911 as their Le Mans weapon.

This incredibly historic 911S is now the subject of an exquisite 1:43-scale resin replica by Spark. Radiant in red, the model is replete with fine details, from its accurate cockpit to its Le Mans-specific lighting equipment. The "Franc" 911S by Spark should be considered an unmissable addition to any collection of 1:43-scale 911 models.
