Porsche 924 Carrera GTR - 1982 24 Hours of Le Mans IMSA GTO Class Winner - 1:18 Scale Model Car
With the new Group C category set to draw heavy interest form the world's race car manufacturers in 1982, the organizers of the 24 Hours of Le Mans reached out to American IMSA teams to help fill their entry grid in the lower-spec classes. One such effort was led by American Jim Bundy, who partnered with sponsor BF Goodrich to field a pair of turbocharged 924 Carrera GTRs in Le Mans' IMSA GTO class. Running on street-legal BF Goodrich radials shaved to race depth, the #87 924 would cruise to a class victory and 16th-place overall finish in the 1982 event, incredibly requiring only five tires to run the entire race distance. The #87 924 Carrera GTR would then become the hero car of a highly successful BF Goodrich print ad campaign that would help solidify the car's place as an '80s racing icon. TSM's 1:18-scale resin replica of the Team BFG Porsche 924 Carrera GTR features an exceptional level of exterior detail, with particular attention paid to its famous silver-and-blue livery and unusual rear box flares.
