Shelby American's new-for-'65 GT350R competition model made its racing debut at Green Valley Raceway in Texas on February 14, 1965. Driven by the estimable Ken Miles, this development prototype scored victory in its very first racing outing, memorably catching air in front of waiting photographers and earning the nickname "The Flying Mule" in the process. Acme Diecast's 1:18-scale metal replica of the Flying Mule GT350R captures the visceral appeal of this raw racer, with its bare bones cockpit, hand-drawn race graphics and menacing hi-po 289 replicated in faithful detail.
