Though Japanese touring car racing in the early 1990s was dominated by the Nissan Skyline GT-R, Toyota's Supra Mark IV would make a strong counterpoint in the 1994 and 1995 seasons. Particularly beloved by American fans was the red-and-white #39 Supra of Team Toyota SARD, driven by Californian Jeff Krosnoff. A consistent contender and two-time podium finisher in the 1995 JGTC GT1 championship, Krosnoff and the Supra would finish in a strong 8th position in the season points.
