Backing Porsche's factory efforts at the 1966 Sebring 12 Hours were a host of privateers who were instrumental in burnishing the German carmaker's reputation as a top performer on the international stage. Among them was the #49 906 fielded by Swiss Charles Vogele and co-driven by national hero Jo Siffert. In the face of the Ford GT40 onslaught as well as their own marque's factory team, the Vogele/Siffert 906 would score a highly credible 6th place overall finish in the tragedy-marred race, winning the 2-liter sports category along the way. The striking red Vogele/Siffert 906 is now the subject of a highly detailed 1:43-scale resin replica by Spark, and is worthy of consideration for any collection of vintage racing Porsche models thanks to its unusual red livery and beautifully rendered interior and exterior trim pieces and race rims. Limited production of 300 units, each individually numbered.
