In 1962, Ferrari were at the height of their power in international sports car racing, but for that year's Sebring 12 Hours, the Scuderia did not field a factory team, opting to outsource their efforts to Luigi Chinetti's North American Racing Team. Ever mindful of helping the mothership in Maranello bring home the coveted Constructor's Championship, which was contested by GTs rather than prototypes, Chinetti assigned defending Le Mans champions Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien to a 250 GTO to give Ferrari its best chance to bring home a critical victory at Sebring. Though both men felt slighted at not being given a faster Ferrari prototype to contend for the overall win, Chinetti's strategy paid off: Hill and Gendebien would drive a brisk but steady pace in the reliable #24 GTO to win the GT category while scoring a remarkable second place overall finish, contributing to Ferrari's ultimate clean sweep of the 1962 championship schedule.

The beautiful blue N.A.R.T. Ferrari 250 GTO driven by Hill and Gendebien at Sebring 1962 is now the subject of an exquisitely detailed 1:18-scale diecast replica by Kyosho. All the elements that have made the GTO one of the most desirable cars in history are present here: the faithfully recreated 3-liter V12 engine, the spartan cockpit with gated shifter, the shark-like body ducts, the glittering Borrani wire wheels. True fans of historic endurance racing should not miss this opportunity to acquire a masterfully crafted 1:18-scale model of the NART Ferrari 250 GTO.
