Introduced in 1968, the Wilhelm Hofmeister-designed BMW E9 set a new standard for personal sporting-luxury coupes. Its graceful lines (featuring that famously kinked C-pillar) suggested speed and power, and the car's M30 inline-six provided the muscle to back it up. Today, the E9 is regarded as one of the most beautiful coupes of all time, with a devoted following in the vintage BMW community.
