Mercedes C111-II (1970) - 1:18 Scale Diecast Model Car by Norev
- 1:18 Scale (approximately ten inches in length)
- Diecast metal body, features opening
Beginning in 1969 and continuing through the 1970s, Mercedes-Benz created a series of concept vehicles under the C111 nameplate, prototypes that pointed to the way to a future of cutting edge performance behind the three-pointed star. Arguably the best known of the four C111 variants was the 1970 C111/II, a gullwing-doored supercar powered by a four-rotor Wankel engine capable of pushing the vehicle to a top speed of 186 miles per hour. Now viewed as an icon of retro-future design, the Mercedes-Benz C111/II is now available as an exquisite 1:18-scale diecast metal replica by Norev. Perhaps the finest model Norev has ever released, this all-new tooling features an elegantly crafted body finished in gorgeous pearlescent orange metallic hue. Fully opening body panels, including the car's signature gullwing doors, reveal a level of detail normally found in models costing much, much more. Fine touches include a removable luggage tray that conceals a wonderfully detailed engine, along with switch-activated pop-up headlamps. For serious collectors of scale-model Mercedes-Benz models, Norev's incredible 1:18-scale C111/II is an absolutely essential addition.
