Think of the most iconic racing liveries of all time. Perhaps you're envisioning Porsches in Gulf or Martini colors, or the sleek black John Player Special Lotuses, or the familiar red-and-white McLarens of Prost and Senna.

Are you also imagining endless shrimp?

As unlikely as it seems, one of the most dominant race cars of the early 1980s was none other than Red Lobster Racing's IMSA GTO BMW M1. In the 1981 IMSA GT Championship, the tube frame Procar M1 driven by Dave Cowart and Kenper Miller absolutely crushed the competition, winning twelve out of sixteen races on the season. (Perhaps current management of the struggling seafood chain could take a lesson from the successes of their former motorsport division.)

The IMSA GTO-championship winning BMW M1 is now the subject of a limited-edition 1:43-scale resin model car by Spark. As you would expect from these masters of 1:43 resin racers, Spark's M1 is incredibly accurate, with expertly detailed bodywork, cockpit, and race wheels...but honestly, we're just here for the charming Red Lobster livery, and on this count, Spark delivers the goods. Sponsorship script and checkered flag striping are crisply rendered, right down to the "For the seafood lover in You" lettering on the car's rear flank. With production limited to only 300 units, Spark's Red Lobster Racing BMW M1 is certain to disappear faster than a fresh basket of Cheddar Bay Biscuits.
