Run on Sicily's serpentine public roads from 1906 to 1977, the Targa Florio is remembered as one of the ultimate tests of driver skill and automotive fortitude in motorsport history. By the 1960s, the race had become an annual battle between the dueling powerhouses of Ferrari and Porsche, epitomized by the 1965 event in which Ferrari's new 275P2 prototype spider held off a slew of challengers from Stuttgart. Driving the winning Ferrari were Targa Florio specialist Nino Vaccarella (a local schoolteacher turned racing driver) and Maranello stalwart Lorenzo Bandini, who teamed to cover 10 laps of the grueling 72-kilometer "Piccolo" circuit in only seven hours and one minute.

The historic Ferrari 275P2 that carried Vaccarella and Bandini to victory in the 1965 Targa Florio is now the subject of an exquisite 1:18-scale resin replica by Tecnomodel. Bathed in gleaming Rosso Corsa, this limited edition model car is accurately shaped and extensively detailed, featuring fine cockpit touches such as a chrome shiftgate and charming Sabelt racing harness. Mounted to an individually numbered leather base, the 1:18-scale Ferrari 275P2 by Tecnomodel is destined to become a cherished focal point of any car enthusiast's home or workplace display...but with a production run of only 110 units, only a lucky few will secure one.
