Following in the footsteps of legendary Ferrari GT racers such as the 250GT SWB and 250GTO, the Michelotto-prepared F40 LM would prove to be a popular choice among privateer race teams in the early 1990s, finding success in IMSA, JGTC and the BPR Global GT Series. Naturally, the F40 LM would find its way to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, among them the Totip-liveried entry of Obermaier Racing in the 1994 event. Though the Obermaier F40 would fail to finish, it nonetheless added to Ferrari's continuing Le Mans legacy.

The Team Obermaier Ferrari F40 LM 1994 Le Mans is now the subject of a beautifully executed 1:64-scale premium diecast model by Tarmac Works. Its complex race livery is rendered with incredible accuracy, as are the car's delicate trim pieces and signature OZ racing wheels.
