Few races in motorsport history can match the brutality of the Marathon de la Route. Held on the Nürburgring's combined Nordschleife and Südschleife circuits, the 1970 event demanded an astonishing 86 consecutive hours of racing. Of the 64 cars that took the start on August 4, 1970, only 24 survived to the finish.
