The era of the 5-liter Group 5 sports car came to an end at Le Mans in 1971, but these monsters of the Mulsanne would go out with a bang, not a whimper. No fewer than seven of Porsche's mighty 917s would participate in the 24 hour race, with the Martini-liveried 917K driven by Gijs van Lennep and Helmut Marko (yes, THAT Helmut Marko) taking overall victory and setting a total distance record that would stand for 40 years.

New from Curitiba (in association with Tarmac Works) is this spectacular premium 1:64-scale diecast replica of the Martini International Porsche 917K driven to victory at Le Mans '71 by van Lennep/Marko. Unusually for this scale, it features an opening rear clip that reveals a charmingly detailed engine top side. The fine details don't stop there, though, as Curitiba have captured the car's iconic Martini livery to perfection. The model comes mounted on a base that includes a commemorative plaque, insuring that this car will earn a place of pride in any 1:64 diecast display.
