COMING SOON: AUDI UR-S6 PLUS AVANT BY SPARK

At Model Citizen, we specialize in classic sports and racing cars, mostly from the 1950s through the 1980s. Like many enthusiasts, we worship these machines for their beautiful lines, their prodigious performance, and their uncompromising pursuit of a sporting purpose.

So, what the heck are we doing with a station wagon?

Well, the station wagon in question is the 1995 Audi S6 Plus Avant, one of history's great sleepers. Looking for all the world like a garden-variety C4-generation A6 wagon, the S6 Plus boasted Audi's potent 4.2-liter, 32-valve V8 tuned up to 325 horsepower. Coupled with a taut suspension, upgraded brakes and a six-speed manual gearbox, the S6 Plus Avant could rocket from 0-60 in 5.7 seconds on its way to a governor-limited top speed of 155 miles per hour...near-supercar numbers for its era. Coveted by Audi enthusiasts today, the original S6 has earned the "Ur" (or "first") nickname bestowed on the most iconic performance cars from Ingolstadt.

We're big fans of cars that play their performance cards close to their vests, and few do it so stealthily as the Ur-S6 Plus Avant. That's why when Spark announced their 1:43-scale resin version, we didn't hesitate to pre-order it for our inventory. We believe that fans of '90s performance cars will be more than satisfied with this beautiful piece. As usual, Spark's commitment to precision has resulted in a spectacular model. Photo-etched "Avus" wheels set things off, and fine details like the roof rails and radio aerial complete the package.

We anticipate arrival of Spark's 1:43-scale Audi S6 Plus Avant by September 12, 2017, with pricing at $72.
